Mechatronics engineering  is the science of combining mechanical engineering with electronic engineering.
In this four year mechatronics engineering degree course you will focus primarily on aspects of developing novel products based on mechatronic principles. You will learn about electronic and mechanical systems, process control and instrumentation, and robotics and automated manufacturing.
Mechatronics engineering is the study of the interface between mechanical engineering and electronics. It is a broad area which embraces mechanical engineering, manufacture, electronics and computer technology.
People working in this area need a range of skills to apply solutions to problems which arise in a typical industrial environment. The person having a Mechatronics engineering degree must be a flexible team-worker, able to trouble shoot, solve problems and keep in touch with current developments.
Many of today's consumer products incorporate mechanical devices which are controlled by microelectronic systems. The modern motor car includes an engine management system, anti-lock braking and ignition, all of which require a microcomputer to be interfaced with the mechanical 'system'. Modern industrial systems in the manufacturing sector use microelectronic devices extensively for control, measurement and information technology application such as data transfer. In the robotics field, the discipline of microelectronics is used extensively in motion control.
A mechatronics engineering degree will help you qualify as a systems engineer giving you a thorough understanding of modern engineering and manufacturing combined with specialist skills in electronics and computer-based technology.
Mechatronics engineering employs a variety of techniques that are used throughout the course with the emphasis on lectures, supporting tutorials and laboratory classes. Engineering Admission at APIIT:
Duration: 4 Years
Eligibility
• Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Computer.
• Obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.
• Any other qualification considered as equivalent by University.
• Age at least 17 years on the 1st date of the month of admission.
